Southern Fried Chicken with Eleven Secret Herbs and Spices


 

Ingredients
4 seitan chicken breasts or drumsticks
the vegan equivalent of two eggs
2 cups flour
2/3 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon basil
1/3 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon celery salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried mustard
4 teaspoons paprika 
2 teaspoons garlic salt
1 teaspoon ground ginger
3 teaspoons white pepper
cooking oil

Instructions
Mix spices into flour.
Prepare your favorite vegan egg substitute.
Set up a shal!ow bowl with seasoned flour, and another with the egg.
Pour about an inch of oil into a frying pan and heat over medium high heat til the oil starts to shimmer.
Dredge each piece of seitan in seasoned flour, and shake off excess. Dip into egg, drain off excess, and dip into seasoned flour. Dip in egg again, dip in flour, and fry til golden on all sides, turning g as necessary.
Remove from oil and drain on a wire rack.
Serve hot or cold.
